The Joker's true identity has never been found, but the GCPD has tracked down several notable individuals suspected to be the true culprit behind the Joker persona

Notable Suspects[]

Jack Napier[]

Jack was a highly intelligent young man who was born and raised in the country, before moving in Gotham City. He would eventually land a job as an engineer in Ace Chemicals Processing Plant, there he would later meet up with his fiancée Jeannie, where they would get married the following year. Not satisfied with his current career plans, he would later quit his job and become a stand-up comedian, but due to having a poor sense of humor and/or Gotham not being able to accept his form of comedy due to it being a cesspool for crime, Jack's career bombed hard and he was soon living in a run-down apartment with his pregnant wife. This soon leads Jack to a deep depression, worrying how he would provide for his family. Nevertheless, Jeannie remains optimistic and reassures him that they will find a way while cheering him up by laughing at one of his jokes. Despite the support of his wife, Jack was forced to take up a life of crime to pay the bills, even joining and rising above the ranks as the leader of the Red Hood Gang. These crimes were supposedly non-violent as the Red Hood Gang was only known as group of petty thieves until two of the members suggested that their next target would be his former workplace, however that place is off limits as a rival gang is stationed near it. Jeannie soon finds out about his criminal activities and manages to convince her husband at the last minute to back out of the plan, and retire his life of crime. However, unbeknownst to him, the last leader of the Red Hood Gang had a huge debt on that rival gang, thus knowing that Jack was the current head of the Red Hood Gang followed and wanted to make an example out of him. As soon as he left his house to inform his colleagues, a nearby police officer contacted and informed him that there was a shoot out near his neighborhood and unfortunately Jeannie and his unborn child didn't make it. Stricken with grief and shock, Jack readies his men for an all out gang war near Ace Chemicals. As soon as gunshots were fired, a dark shadowy figure crashes atop the glass ceiling, a large smoke soon envelops the area, as Jack can only hear the screams and cries of pain of both his colleagues and his enemies. As the shadowy figure approaches him, fearing for his life Jack runs away and was soon backed into a corner, having no other options he leaps and soon falls into a vat of chemicals. Jack Napier's body was never found and was presumed dead shortly after
